Cai Guo-Qiang and Pompeii Publisher / PIE Books For artists of all agesIn 2019, New Yorkbased Chinese artist Cai Guo Qiang was invited to create a work of art in the amphitheatre of the Pompeii archaeological site. Inspired by the fate of the ancient Roman city, which was buried by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Cais work involved gunpowder, fireworks, an array of artifacts and a vast canvas. This title is published to document Cais work in Pompeii. The performance culminated in an excavation of the resulting debris,
